I recently graduated with a PhD from the University of Washington School of Medicine (Pharmacology Department), where I was Dr. Yasemin Sancak’s first graduate student. I am now continuing my research in the Sancak Lab as a research scientist.
My projects center on mitochondrial stress and calcium signaling, and their contributions to the pathology of neurodegenerative disease. To complement my dissertation research, I completed the Molecular Medicine Graduate Certificate Program — you can see my diploma here.
In my free time, I volunteer at the Pacific Science Center (PacSci). I share all-ages interactive science activities at Meet a Scientist events and help create exhibits for our guests with the Exhibit Design Team. Though COVID-19 forced PacSci to temporarily discontinue much of its programming, I am optimistic things will return to normal soon.
I am also a big fan of foraging and wild foods — check out the Fun section of my website to see some of my latest finds! You can find my up-to-date resume here.
